Ford home charge stations should be installed by a licensed professional. The installation process requires a professional who can assess the available capacity in your electrical panel and conduct the installation correctly and safely.

How much does it cost to install a home charge station?

Some key considerations to the cost of installation may include the following:

  • Electrical Panel Condition: Your main panel must be up to code for a safe installation.
  • Electrical Panel Available Amperage:
    • Your electric panel has a maximum capacity.
    • Other appliances in the home affect the available amperage, and may influence the options available for installation.
  • Charge Station Location: Long wire runs/limited access from the panel to the charger, including vertical distance, may add additional cost.

While you can discuss any potential cost reduction options with your licensed professional, your charger must be installed safely and correctly.

Is there any installation required for a Ford Mobile Power Cord?

Depending on your home’s electrical set up, it may be recommended to install a new 120V or 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet for Mobile Power Cord use.
